Mother’s Day Special Edition

What better way to celebrate your Mum than drinking bubbles and eating oysters while crafting your very own oyster platters!

No need to BYO for this class; in this special edition, the treats are included! We are starting at 10 am and finishing at 1 pm, so you can take Mum to lunch after the class.

What you’ll make.

People have been asking for it, and we’ve finally pulled it together! All the ingredients for a foolproof Oyster Platter workshop. A step up from our regular platter class, this session will introduce you to new, yet totally beginner-friendly techniques to help you create a stunning, purpose-built, three-dimensional Oyster Platter. This is the kind of piece that will become the centrepiece of every celebration in your home.

What you’ll learn.

You’ll use plaster moulds in a custom arrangement to give shape to your platter, making sure it's stunning, functional, and stable. Press moulds will help you adorn your piece with gorgeous coastal details, and, most importantly, you’ll have extra time to paint and finish your hand-built platter to perfection. So settle in and take your time. Bring drinks and snacks if that’s your thing, or lock in to a creative trance and sculpt your masterpiece.

You’ll be part of a small class, guided by an experienced teacher, so you’ll get all the attention you need. And if creating Oyster Platters has put you in the mood to celebrate, head across the road to Marrickville’s legendary watering hole, The Vic on the Park, or wander a little further up the hill to the gorgeous bars and restaurants of Enmore.

Skill level: Beginner to intermediate.

This is a beginner class accessible to people with no previous experience, and those who’ve dabbled before. You must be 15+ to attend this class.

Class length: 3hrs. Price: $150pp.

This is a one-off 3hr introductory yet in-depth hand-building class - enough time to really create something you’ll be proud of!

The vibe: Immersive, energising and expressive.

Make, decorate and get in the zone. Then practice humility, you’ll need it for all the compliments at your next soirée!

Get dressed for success.

Wear something that’s easy to clean, or that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. Covered shoes are ideal and think about keeping long hair out of the way.

The boring bits.

Unfortunately, the kiln gods are a capricious bunch and while we do our best to minimise the possibility, breakages may happen during firing. We cannot offer refunds for damaged items.

Getting there.

We’re at 9 Addison Rd in Marrickville, opposite The Vic, right near the intersection of Enmore Rd and seconds from Enmore Park.

Dare to drive? There is ample parking along either side of Enmore Park, on Llewellyn St or Victoria Rd. There are also spaces along Addison Rd or any of the nearby side streets.

Save the world, one bus trip at a time. Routes 355, 423, 426, 428, 430 all stop close by - alight at Enmore Park and pop around the corner.
